Beer Bread Recipe

I had this treat last weekend, Alysha made it for diner. It's simple recipe, and a complete knock-off of the Tastefully Simple, so instead of spending the $4.99 for the mix, I'll share the secret here. The mix is only sugar and flour.....

  • 3 cups of self-rising flour
  • 3 tablespoons of sugar
  • 3 tablespoons of melted butter
  • 12 ounces of beer - I used Miller Lite

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all ingredients together, spread into a greased baking pan. I used a 9 X 9, but next time I think I'll use a 9 X 13 pan instead. It came out deeper than I would have liked. Bake at for 23 to 28 minutes, until top peaks turn a golden brown. The bread tastes great alone, or with a bit of a spicy cream cheese spread to zip things up.
