Messy, Messy, Messy

Okay. My life and environment are spiraling out of control! I was sick a few weeks ago, and the house REALLY went down hill, worse than normal. And, it still has not fully recovered (both the house and I.....) I took all the food out of our 2 cupboards. There was a diaper box full of food to be donated. Who needs 3 boxes of stuffing, when I don't use boxed stuffing anyways?? How about 12 boxes of cereal? I managed to get everything back in the cupboards. And threw out things like powdered lemonade mix that expired in 2007. Also, I found I have 4 bags of powdered sugar, but I do go through that stuff like crazy.

Now if I could only get the coupon clutter under control. One day at a time....

Also, see the Queen in the top picture. She was making some crazy recipe that involved 32 POUNDS of sour kraut.

Colgate

My deal from Target. I bought six of these Colgate toothpaste with bonus trial size attached. Originally the six would have cost $17.88. I got them for $3.63 or $0.60 a piece. They were marked down to $1.48, and I had three $1 coupons and three $0.75 coupons. John is jazzed about non-generic toothpaste.

OMG. It gets BETTER. Inside the Colgate box, there were MORE coupons. $10 worth for Colgate-Palmolive brand items. THINGS YOU WOULD BUY ANYWAY! (dish soap, deodorant, toothpaste, soap.....)

Bourbon Currant Cookie

I made these up this afternoon. It called for 1/3 cup of bourbon, but any whiskey could be used. I had Southern Comfort (my poison of choice) and Jack Daniels. I went with the Jack. The dough was slightly sticky, so I added about 2 more tablespoons than what was called for. Also, I did not have 2 inch card symbol cookie cutters, so I used car shaped ones again. I am getting sick of these roll out cookies. I have a marble rolling pin, and I think a wood one would work better for these types of dough. Decent tasting cookie, nothing too special. Check out the recipe on her site.

I am trying this new coupon thing. Using couponmom.com. This is a good find I just got today. At Fleet Farm. Normal price $25. Had a $3 off coupon, and there was a sale you get $10 gift card with purchase. So end price of $12. I bought two bags, for a total of $24.

Biscuit Sandwich Cookie

The dough for this cookie was way too sticky to roll out. So I rolled it into equal sized balls and squished it down flat on a Silpat. The cookie was pretty tasty, the recipe didn't make very much. And did not need nearly as much chocolate as what was called. We used the left over to make chocolate covered strawberries. This one is on her site, http://www.marthastewart.com/recipe/biscuit-sandwich-cookies?autonomy_kw=biscuit%20sandwich&rsc=header_2
